14.12.2014 Young Tribal Leaders Optimistic about President Obama's Initiative Across the nation, Native youth are expressing optimism about Generation Indigenous, the initiative announced by President Obama to promote opportunities for indigenous youth. The announcement accompanied the release of a federal report that outlines a "state of emergency" that Native youth face as the result of systemic proverty and centuries of suffering under European colonization.

12.12.2014 NIHB Fuding Opportunity
The National Indian Health Board and the CDC are pleased to announce a new funding initiative that will provide funds to Tribes to support activites and efforts towards achieving public health accreditation. This funding program, titled the Tribal Accreditation Support Initiatives (Tribal ASI) will fund 5-10 Tribes at amounts ranging from $5,000 to $10,500 to work in one or more categories related to strengthening the Tribal Health Department and working towards accreditiation as defined by the Publice Health Accreditation Board.

Publications

NNAAPC participates in many events across the continental United States, Alaska, and Hawaii in an effort to support, share knowledge, disseminating preventive HIV/AIDS practices as it effects Native communities.

NNHAAD

The National Native HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NNHAAD) is a nationwide effort designed to Encourage Native people to get educated and to learn more about HIV/AIDS and it's impact in their community and decrease the stigma of HIV/AIDS.

Honorings

Honoring the Red Ribbon Award was created and is given in honor and memory of Marty Lynn Prairie (1958-2001)(Lakota), and all of those like him who give of their time, talent, and spirit to combat HIV/AIDS in Native communities.
