"I Am Brave: A Workshop on Identity, Tradition, and Empowerment for
Two-Spirit, Native GLBTQI and Community Members"                                 
This workshop will promote empowerment, health, and well-being for Two-Spirit, Native GLBTQI, and the rest of the Native community through exploration of tradition and concepts of identity as Two-Spirit and Native people. The workshop will run from noon to 5 pm and will be followed by a potluck and social from 6:30 pm to 9 pm. Alistair Bane (Eastern Shawnee) will facilitate and special guest speaker, Dr. George Tinker (Osage), author of "Theology of American Indian Liberation" will discuss Two-Spirit tradition in the Osage Nation. Two-Spirit, Native GLBTQI, partners, family, service providers and members of the community are encouraged to attend. This event was sponsored by the Denver Indian Family Health and Human Services. "Together We are Strong" Memorial and Singing                  
A memorial prayer will be followed by singing in recognition of NNHAAD. All singers are welcome to celebrate the strength of our community through song and to remember those we have lost in the past year. Denver March Powwow HIV/AIDS Information Booth         
The National Native CBA Network is collaborating with Denver Indian Health and Family Services to provide HIV/AIDS information and NNHAAD products and incentives at the Denver March Powwow in an effort to spread awareness at this well attended event. This event was sponsored by the National Native American AIDS Prevention Center, Commitment to Action for 7th-Generation Awareness & Education: HIV/AIDS Prevention Project and Denver Indian Health and Family Services. National Native HIV/AIDS Awareness Week                         
The Wellness Committee from Denver Juvinile Probation/Treatment Alternatives for Safer Communities (TASC) will be passing out NNHAAD lapel pins and buttons. In addition, employees will be given a fact/sheet about HIV/AIDS and a list of other NNHAAD community events for them and their families to attend in an effort to spread the word about HIV/AIDS in the Native community and beyond. Please note that TASC offers clients the opportunity to participate in confidential HIV/AIDS testing on a regular basis. This event was sponsored by TASC and Denver Juvinile Probation.
