Walk for 3rd Annunal NNHAAD
Mary Mousseau, PHN and Karen Red Star, OST Health Educator will participate in a hour long interview on KILI Radio a.k.a. "The Voice of the Lakota Nation" just prior to the walk. Walk participants are to meet on main street in to town of Martin at 8 am and will be treated to lunch and surprise guest speakers. National Native HIV/AIDS Awareness Day
This event will have a HIV 101 presentation in recognition of NNHAAD. HIV/AIDS information and NNHAAD incentives will be handed out to the guests in attendance. There will also be a health fair and health screening on location. For more information about this event, please contact Simone Lambert.

Women and Girls Take Care of Each Other in a Good Way
Women and Girls Take Care of Each Other in a Good Way means Winyankin Wikoskekin Tanyan Nipta Tanyan Awan Icihdakapikte in the Dakota language. Activies for this event will include pidmayaye (thank you) prayer, a welcome dinner, keynote opening circle for girls with Sandi Bernard and keynote speakers Tracey Cooper, HIS Prevention Specialist and Lisa Tiger, AIDS Educator/Survivor. There will also be booths on women’s health issues, outreach acitivies, NNHAAD pins handed out, working groups to increase HIV/AIDS awareness throughout the community, a coming away prayer and a mobile test station. This event was sponsored by Office of Women’s Health in the US Dept. of Health, Enemy Swim Day School and Community Learning Center, IHS Sisseton South Dakota, and Charlianne Robertson.
