Native Red Ribbon
HIV/AIDS Pendleton Blanket
In commemoration of National Native HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NNHAAD), NNAAPC is proud presents this special offer. In exchange for a donation, you will receive a Native Red Ribbon HIV/AIDS Pendleton Blanket produced specifically to honor the first National Native HIV/AIDS Awareness Day in 2007.
The blanket incorporates designs and symbols reflecting the cultures of American Indians, Alaska Natives and Native Hawaiians. The edges include a storm pattern, a series of triangles in red and black that represents mountains and dark clouds. Moving inward, the design integrates the traditional symbol of the four directions and the red ribbon, the international symbol for AIDS awareness. The red ribbon has been unfurled to symbolize the need to open up dialogue about HIV/AIDS and the stigma that exist. The center of the blanket portrays the Circle of Life, bordered by protective arrowheads and Native Hawaiian plants. The blanket measures 64” x 80” and is composed of 82% pure virgin wool and 18% cotton. Take advantage of this special offer and make your donation today!
For a minimum donation of $175.00 (plus shipping), you will receive the Native Red Ribbon HIV/AIDS Pendleton Blanket. There are very few blankets left, and there is no guarantee that another run will be ordered.
The design of the Native Red Ribbon HIV/AIDS Pendleton Blanket was a collaborative effort between Colorado State University’s CA7AE: HAPP, Inter Tribal Council of Arizona, Inc., and the National Native American AIDS Prevention Center. If you have any questions about the blanket or if you would like to make a donation in exchange for a blanket, please contact Sandra Janis, Director of Finance and Operations, at (720) 382-2244 X 307 or by email at sjanis@nnaapc.org.
